From optimization models to opening nights, Lauren Howe began as an industrial engineer and landed (unexpectedly) in the spotlight as Miss Canada and a Top 10 finalist at Miss Universe. Now, this human golden retriever brings heart, curiosity, and vision to every story, as an actor, host, and storyteller behind the lens.

An unexpected path from engineering to entertainment.

Lauren Howe is a Canadian actor, host, and storyteller with a background that blends engineering and entertainment. Raised in Toronto, she earned her degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto.

Looking for ways to fund her education, she entered a pageant on a whim and won.

Her first on-camera role was as the In-Arena Host for the Toronto Maple Leafs, where she spent two seasons connecting with live audiences. She later went on to win Miss Canada and placed in the Top 10 at Miss Universe under WME/IMG representation.

During this time, Lauren also modelled internationally, gaining experience across media, fashion, and global stage production.

Lauren is a confident and quick-thinking live host. She has appeared on camera for Sportsnet, TSN, and Breakfast Television, and co-hosted the national Grammy Awards red carpet with CityTV. She has covered major cultural events including TIFF, The King’s Plate, the Invictus Games, and press junkets across Canada.

Her work on screen expanded into acting, with credits in Amazon’s Reacher, the feature film Blackberry (directed by Matt Johnson), Neon Lights (eOne, Red Hill Entertainment, Netflix), and several television movies.

Lauren is also the creator and host of Howe To, a podcast and content series that explores big questions with curiosity and humour.

Behind the lens, Lauren’s work spans editorial portraiture, fine art, commercial campaigns, and travel-based storytelling. Her background in photography and production fuels her expanding focus on documentary work and visual direction.

She is currently developing a docuseries focused on global women’s experiences and is actively moving into directing, with a long-term goal of creating content that challenges, connects, and inspires.

At the heart of all her work is a passion for people and the stories that shape them. Whether in front of the camera or behind it, Lauren’s work lives at the intersection of insight and entertainment, designed to make people think, feel, and see differently.

Oh, and she's low key obsessed with golf and sharks.
